🔥 Good Morning from Top Tickers

🔥 Good News Sent This Stock Down 25%

Deals and disruption are driving the tape this morning. A cash buyout is lifting both sides of a chip deal, and a days-old spinoff is enjoying its first moments inside the S&P 500.

The biggest moves are on the downside. A sportswear giant still can't find its footing, a rival's expansion plans are hitting a hard drive maker, and one medical device name is falling hard on news that looked like a win.

🚀 Pre-Market Movers

The Biggest Gainers, Ranked

Synaptics (SYNA): +14%

Synaptics is jumping after reports that ON Semiconductor (ON) will acquire the company for $123 per share in cash. An all-cash price puts a hard number on the stock, and in a deal situation, that number becomes the whole story.

ON Semiconductor (ON): +7%

The buyer is rallying alongside the target, which is not how deal news usually plays out for an acquirer. The Synaptics transaction is now valued at $5.7 billion, down from the $7 billion attached to the prior agreement. Paying meaningfully less for the same asset is the kind of deal math investors tend to reward.

Vylor (VYLR): +2%

The newly independent seeds and genetics company is edging higher after joining the S&P 500 on Thursday, the same day it was spun off from Corteva (CTVA). Vylor takes Corteva's spot in the index, while Corteva moves down to the S&P MidCap 400. For a stock that's only days old, index inclusion is about as strong a debut tailwind as it gets.

📉 Pre-Market Movers

The Biggest Losers, Ranked

Nexalin Technology (NXL): -25%

Nexalin is sliding despite announcing a 10-year distribution and manufacturing deal with Inovanexa Medical Technologies, which clears its Nexalin Sync neurostimulation device for distribution across seven South American countries. A 25% drop on what reads like expansion news suggests the market isn't buying the headline, at least not yet.

Seagate Technology (STX): -11%

Seagate is getting hit after a Nikkei report that Toshiba will double its production capacity for data-center hard drives and invest $380 million to expand facilities in the Philippines. Toshiba is one of Seagate's top competitors in a concentrated market. A well-funded rival scaling up in Seagate's core business is exactly the kind of headline that resets expectations.

Nike (NKE): -7%

Nike missed revenue expectations for its fiscal first quarter, with sales down 4% on declines in its China business. The company also announced plans to cut staff in 2027. A revenue miss, a China problem, and future layoffs add up to a story that still hasn't turned the corner.

👀 What We’re Watching

Here’s One Ticker That’s Trending Today

Mattel (MAT)

Retail traders on StockTwits are treating Authentic Brands Group's reported takeover approach as an opening bid, not a final number. The preliminary offer is above $20 per share, and the chatter has already moved on to whether a bidding war could push that toward $25 or even $30.

The stock jumped 18% Thursday on the report, its best day in more than seven years, and was roughly flat overnight. Preliminary offers don't always become formal ones, so this could turn into a bidding war, a single deal, or nothing at all.

✌️That’s it for today.
